HARTLEY Wintney suffered another defeat in the Southern League Division Two, as they lost at home to Paultons 53 runs.

The visitors won the toss and their winning score of 239, was built around an century from Scott Hills.

He was only one of five players to make it into double figures with opener Nathan Feltham (45) scoring the bulk of the early runs.

Hartley looked in a good position as Paultons reached 119-6, but Hills (101) and Andrews Collins (21) added 84 for the sixth wicket.

Patrick Joseph (2-27), Danny Plume (2-34) and Ollie Waddington (2-36) were chief home side wicket takers.

The Hartley reply suffered early set backs as both openers Matt Kerr and Tom Garwood were back in the pavilion with just 19 on the board.

Plume (75) and Patrick Joseph (30) started to rebuild the innings and Scott Baldwin (22) was the next best score as the home side were bowled out for 186. James Holgate (5-56) was the pick of Paulton's bowlers.

Next for Hartley is a trip to Bashley (Rydal) IIs as the look to make sure they are not sucked into an end of season relegation dogfight.
