HARTLEY Wintney are still searching for their first win since being promoted back into the Southern League Division One, after they lost to visiting OTs and Romsey by 57 runs.
The visitors put into bat by the home side scored 231-8, thanks to solid knocks from opener Elliot Mitchell-Lee (40), Harry Tulk (39) and Kelvin Trodd (31 not out).
Ben Earney (3-29) led the attack and there was also a pair of wickets for Jamie Teale and Danny Plume. Wicket-keeper Will Kerr collected three catches to also got with stumping.
In reply, Hartley were all out for 174 in 39 overs, this was despite Jonny Rowland’s unbeaten 73, with James Beckwith (34) was the next best.
Romsey’s Jacob Folkestone and Matthew Bampton both took three wickets. Hartley are in T20 Cup action today, when Paultons are the visitors and return to league action on Saturday, with a trip to Liphook.
