HOOK and Newnham Basics enjoyed a double away winning weekend and captain Matt Love hopes his side can keep this going on Saturday, when Bournemouth visit the King George V Playing Fields.

Love’s boys followed up their excellent 71-run league success at Andover on Saturday evening with just as impressive 69-run win in the opening round of the T20 Cup on Sunday.

Love said: “We had a very good weekend and hope this is start of a nice run for us. It was nice to see the senior player take up the mantle in what was two good team performances."

"The league is still wide open and we can get a few wins we will be into the mix.”

Hook will be without Jordan Hobday this weekend, so Matt Buckingham returns to the first team.

Bournemouth who are one place above the drop zone, enjoyed a great four wicket win over high flying Liphook who they bowled out for 78.
