HAMPSHIRE have awarded two-year development contracts to Mason Crane and Joe Weatherley.
Former Sussex junior Crane took 4-68 in the second innings of his first-class debut yesterday, while Weatherley is a former England U19 captain.
Academy director Bobby Parks said: “I’m delighted for both players, they’ve been fully committed and dedicated to the Academy programme and now have every opportunity of moving themselves further in the game.
“Mason’s commitment to Hampshire has been outstanding and has involved many hours of travel from his school at Lancing to training sessions at the Ageas Bowl.
“Joe’s come through the elite programme at Hampshire from an early age. A brilliantly consistent opening batsman, he has scored more runs for county junior sides than anyone.”
