DURING the Summer of 1815, the Duke of Wellington defeated the mighty French army of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo, while in Old Basing the cricket club played its first competitive match.

To celebrate the bicentenary of the club forming there will be a very special T20 match in the village with a whole host former Test stars coming to play against the Old Basing as part of the Lashings team on Friday August 28.

Tables in the corporate tent are going fast, so any local business who would like to watch the game in style are encouraged to book now.

Tables of 10 are available as well as premium tables which are for nine and a Lashings player, and both will included a three course lunch before the game, as well as an afternoon tea.

It will also give you a prime viewing position and there will be a bar in the corporate tent as well.

Old Basing last played the Lashings team in 2013 which saw a bumper crowd at the ground and the likes of Phil DeFreitas, Devon Malcolm, Matthew Hoggard, Scott Styris, Ian Harvey, John Emburey and Owais Shah among the stars set to be on show this time around.

Ground admission is free and the gates open at midday, with a colts game set to take place before the T20 game at 3pm, but there will be a lot more going on for all the family.
