SHERFIELD are the early leaders of North Hampshire Cricket Association Midweek League Division Two after winning a thriller against Royal Naval Sports.
RNA batted first and posted 101-5, thanks to an unbeaten 51 from Gareth Cloutt and Tom Moore’s knock of 22. Adi Nixon was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3-12.
Sherfield’s reply was led by John Hooper, who made an unbeaten 36 and Simon Grant (26).
Royal Naval Sports’ Colin Dwyer took 3-21, but it was Sherfield who squeezed home with two balls to spare, winning the game by four wickets.
