The Basingstoke Buffalo now know they will face the Chelmsford Warriors in the promotion play-offs next month.

A depleted Buffalo side travelled to Oxford last weekend in their final league game and lost 7-4 to the Bristol Pitbulls.

The home side led 1-0 at the first break as Jamie Newton, but 19 seconds in the second session the Buffalo were level as Greg Martyn scored from Warren Jones.

Hallam Wilson then gave the visitors the lead, before Bristol levelled from Olly Shone.

Once again the Buffalo took the lead as Neil Leary scored assisted by Liam Coleman.

Shone scored again to make it 3-3, but the visitors were not to denied a lead at the second break as Ryan Sutton scored.

The final period belonged to the home side as Newton, Yousif Abu Saada, Grant Richardson and Zachery Dolphin all scored. The Buffalo man of the match was Paul Petts.
