THE BASINGSTOKE Bison may be down but are by no means out of their EPL Cup semi-final showdown with the Manchester Phoenix after narrowly losing the home leg 3-2 on Tuesday night.
The visitors took the lead in the seventh minute from Marcus Kristoffersson, but the Bison equalised thanks to a Mindy Kieras blue line bullet by the end of the first period.
Manchester took the lead for a second time at 51:44 thanks to Curtis Huppe as the visitors made the most of a two man advantage.
The Herd hit back shorthanded just 27 seconds later from that man Kieras again to make it 2-2 However, the Phoenix grabbed a late winner from Tony Hand, as most of the home fans yelled for a penalty to be called, after Ondrej Lauko was knocked down in centre ice.
