THE BASINGSTOKE Bison suffered the heartbreak of losing in overtime on Saturday night 3-2 at the Swindon Wildcats.
Aaron Nell grabbed the winner after the Herd had wiped out a two goal deficit in the final period.
It was the Bison’s leading goal scorer Slovak Sniper Ondrej Lauko, who scored both Bison goals on the powerplay.
The odds looked stacked against the visitors as they trailed 2-0 going into the last 20 minutes, after they lost captain Nicky Chinn dismissed on a high sticks call in the middle session.
The first period had seen the home side build up a 2-0 advantage thanks to Jan Krajicek and Jozef Kohut both goals coming on the powerplay.
