BASINGSTOKE Town suffered injury-time heartbreak to lose 3-2 away at local rivals Maidenhead United on Saturday.
The visitors had the wind and slope in their favour during the first half but failed to make the most of it, though they had strong claims for a penalty when Robert Rice was brought down in the area.
Maidenhead went ahead in the second half, Sam Collins producing a fine finish to lob Ross Kitteridge, and doubled their lead through Kieron St Amie with 12 minutes to go.
Town struck back, Gary Frewen’s penalty and Fraser Franks’ blockbuster levelling the scores, only for substitute Alex Wall to win the game for the home side two minutes into added time.
