SEVEN ice skaters from Basingstoke recently clinched victories at the national competition in Sheffield.

All participants, who regularly hone their skills at Basingstoke ice rink, secured season-best records and bagged a wealth of medals.

Yasmin Shah and Rebecca Zimmerman, both guided by coaches Sam and Carly Elliot, wrapped up their Gold and Masters free skating categories with fourth and third places respectively.

Emma Lamaq, under the expert instruction of Penny Anderson, won silver in her age group free dance. Clare James, trained by Fiona Harris, secured third in pre-bronze pattern dance, second in pre-bronze free dance and fourth overall in free skating.

Trained by the same coach, Hannah Miles and Helen Leighs made impressive season-best performances in pre-bronze and bronze free skating levels. Annalise Wiggans, competing in the young adult silver category, achieved gold in her first ever adult nationals.
