With rinks scores of Trevor Morgan 40-7, Gary Lovett 17-26, Dougie Morgan 17-12 and Steve Shaw 19-22 gave them a winning score of 93-67 and 12 points.

At Loddon Vale it was a much tighter tussle with the home side skipped by Gary Lovett’s rink losing out to Adam White 10-14.

However, with Trevor Morgan’s rink increasing their advantage at Chawton Park to win 23-10, Loddon Vale ran out comfortable 33-24 winners. Their next opponents are multiple winners of this event Whiteknights (Reading).

In the Atherley Trophy Hampshire Ladies took on Surrey at Loddon Vale where they used the home advantage to win 119-93.

Hampshire men took on Berkshire in the Liberty Cup at Palmerston IBC (Fareham) with four out of the eight Loddon Vale bowlers involved receiving their first caps.

With the Berkshire team having a number of internationals in their side it was expected to be a close fought game.
