LONDON Irish made sure of home advantage in the last eight of the European Challenge Cup after a 34-6 win at Rovigo.
In a close first 40 minutes, the Exiles only led 10-6 thanks to the boot of Shane Geraghty and a try from Ofisa Treviranus.
All the Italian side’s points came from a pair of successful penalties from Stefan Basson.
After the break, the Exiles ran away with the game as James Short scored, followed by Treviranus and Topsy Ojo with the bonus point try.
The score was completed when Treviranus went over for his hat-trick try.
Irish are in away cup action again this Saturday, when they face Scarlets in a LV= Cup tie which has a 6.30pm kick-off.
