OVERTON United’s slow start to the new season continued as they were beaten 4-2 away at Otterbourne in the Hampshire Premier League last night.
Titch Bloomfield’s side had gone down to a 6-0 defeat at Baffins Milton Rovers on the opening day and they found themselves two goals down inside 20 minutes at Otterbourne, Liam Davies and Tom Ashton getting the goals.
For the second game running, Overton lost Matt Bennett to a red card before half-time, and second-half strikes from Luke Pothecary and Tom Sands had Otterbourne in complete control.
Oliver Bode and Michael Morey both scored late on to reduce the deficit, but Bloomfield will be hoping to see an improvement from his side when they travel to Clanfield on Saturday.
