ESSENTIAL Krav Maga has just finished working on a film for Sky TV called Operation Firemagic.

It is a documentary based on real life events surrounding Lufthansa Flight 181, which was hijacked with 84 passengers on board in 1977, and follows a daring rescue by GSG9 West German troops.

Krav Maga head instructor Jim Maidement was the technical advisor on the shoot and some of the students had cameo roles.

“He was approached by a production company as we have a great reputation for running air rage and anti hijacking courses, including self defence and offer day courses in airplane scenarios,” said a spokesman.

Essential Krav Maga is based in Basingstoke and runs courses at Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College. For more details about the club, contact Jim Maidement on 07775 952274 or email
