This live event has finished

  • FULL-TIME - Hayes and Yeading United 0-0 Basingstoke Town
  • Town remain 12th in Conference South after low-quality draw at Kingfield.
  • Basingstoke lose David Ray to injury in scoreless first half.
  • Very little goalmouth action in the second period.

That's all for tonight. I'm off to try and get warm. Join me again on Saturday afternoon, when Town travel to Tonbridge Angels.

A post-match video interview with Basingstoke Town manager Jason Bristow can be see by clicking here.

A pretty terrible game, especially in the second half, and it gets the result it deserved. Town created some chances in the first half but were denied by some good saves by the home goalkeeper.

Reaction to follow.

Hayes and Yeading 0-0 Basingstoke Town

90 - Hayes and Yeading United - Chimdi Akubuine on for Niall McManus

90 - Half-chance for Musunga, but it's well wide. Four minutes of added time to play.

89 - McAuley gets free down the left and his low ball in causes problems, with Williams' shot blocked before the hosts clear.

86 - Harriott lets fly from distance but it's well wide of the Town goal.

84 - Liam Enver-Marum - Basingstoke Town

Enver-Marum goes down in the area and is booked for diving.

83 - The ball drops to Ladapo on the edge of the area. Another shooting opportunity blasted miles over by the striker.

82 - There are two balls on the pitch. Jaimez-Ruiz gets one and boots it out of the ground. Phil Babb looks on in amazement.

80 - Williams wins a free-kick. He gets permission to take it quickly, while Hayes are setting up their wall, but clips the ball over the crossbar.

78 - Hayes and Yeading United - Andrew Musunga on for Samir Bihmoutine

Bihmoutine has picked up a knock and has to be replaced.

76 - That's a nice pass from Johnson-Schuster to release Smart down the right but his driven cross goes straight out for a goal-kick.

73 - Basingstoke Town - Manny Williams on for Louie Soares

An attacking change as Town switch to 4-3-3.

73 - Space for Jenkinson to shoot from 25 yards, but his low shot goes wide.

72 - Hayes and Yeading United - Luke Williams on for Jack Mills

70 - Ladapo is almost in but Cox's pass is too heavy for him. A decent opening.

Not a lot happening at the moment. Will we get some drama before the end?

64 - Adam Green - Basingstoke Town

Another silly booking as Green is carded for throwing the ball away after conceding a throw following a heavy touch.

59 - A low ball in from Soares causes chaos in the Hayes area. The ball drops for McAuley, who fires in a powerful shot, bringing an excellent reaction save out of Jaimez-Ruiz. Top drawer.

58 - Hayes are looking to play a bit more at the moment and a nice move sees Cox head over from the edge of the area.

56 - Town work the ball from right to left, creating a shooting chance for Green. The angle is against him and while Jaimez-Ruiz fails to hold his low shot, he gathers at the second attempt.

53 - Ladapo beats Rice for pace and power down the left channel. He probably could have gone down for a penalty but stays on his feet, only to blast wastefully over the crossbar.

Jason Bristow is imploring his players to get hold of the ball and show more quality. He's down in front of me and really getting into them.

47 - That's a good turn from Ladapo on the edge of the Town area. The shot is pretty good too. Plenty of power and it had Wells worried as it whistled just over the crossbar.

Town get the second half started.

The players are back out for the second half. Doesn't look like there will be any changes.

Not sure Mr Keown will be enjoying it. Wouldn't be surprised if he has already left.

It's getting decidely chilly. I'm regretting my lack of a coat.

Doesn't look good for Ray. He can barely put any weight on his left leg at the moment. Could be an ankle problem. Can't see him playing again for a couple of weeks.

Not a great first half but Town will feel they should be ahead. It was very even but they created more opportunities to open the scoring.

Hayes and Yeading United 0-0 Basingstoke Town

45+2 - A foul by Shaun McAuley gives Hayes a dangerous free-kick but Jack Mills can only fire over.

45 - Another dangerous moment as the ball bobbles around on the edge of the Town area, but the visitors manage to smuggle it clear.

43 - Gasson lets a high ball bounce but Rice digs him out of trouble. That looked dangerous for a second.

38 - Ben Brown - Hayes and Yeading United

It was Gerring, rather than Brown, who was booked earlier, but Brown is shown a yellow card now following a late challenge on Green.

36 - Close again for the visitors. Jenkinson cuts in from the right and lets fly with a fine curling shot, that Jaimez-Ruiz just about manages to push over the crossbar.

34 - Town should be ahead. The ball drops to Bignall on the six-yard line after bouncing around in the area, but he is off balance and shoots wide.

32 - Basingstoke Town - Marcus Johnson-Schuster on for David Ray

That's a blow for Town as Ray has to leave the field after suffering an injury.

With no Adams on the bench, Johnson-Schuster goes to right-back, with Robbie Rice moving in alongside Gasson in the centre of defence.

Let's hope that doesn't keep Ray out for too long. He's a massive player for Town these days.

30 - Bignall lets fly from the left corner of the area but it's straight at the Hayes goalkeeper.

28 - Ladapo is a handful. He outmuscles Ray down the right channel but fires wide of the near post. A poor finish.

27 - Ladapo beats Gasson down the Hayes left but his cross is too high for Cox, who can only glance wide.

26 - Bignall wins a dangerous free-kick in a central area no more that 22 yards out. Adam Green goes for placement but sees his shot float wide.

24 - Ben Gerring - Hayes and Yeading United

Gerring needlessly kicks the ball away to stop Town taking a quick throw and picks up a silly booking.

19 - Town struggle to clear the resulting throw as well - and that's a big chance. The ball drops for Bihmoutine about 10 yards out, but he blasts miles over the crossbar.

19 - A couple of half-chances for the hosts as Town fail to clear their lines. Marty Harriott eventually gets a shot in, but Gasson blocks.

16 - Louie Soares smashes an excellent effort into the top corner from the edge of the area. Sadly, the whistle had already gone.

15 - A cross comes in from the right and Hayes' Pat Cox gets up to meet it, but he can only head wide.

It's all tempo and no quality from both sides so far.

11 - Town go close again through Enver-Marum from a corner, but his header is too close to the Hayes goalkeeper.

10 - So close to the opening goal for the visitors.

Bignall does well to hold the ball up 30 yards from goal before feeding Nathan Smart down the right. His low cross finds Enver-Marum, but his effort is well saved by Jaimez-Ruiz.

I forgot to mention it earlier, but Hayes are managed by former Coventry, Liverpool and Ireland defender Phil Babb.

He must be pretty happy with the way things are going at the moment.

It's been a slow start from Town, who have been unable to get the ball down and pass it around so far. Hayes are a very direct side and have penned the visitors back a bit so far.

4 - Freddie Ladapo shoots from the edge of the Town area but Gasson makes the block.

2 - Samir Bihmoutine of Hayes has the first shot of the match but it's straight at Louis Wells.

Hayes get the game under way. Town are shooting towards the large stand, which is closed tonight, in the first half.

The teams make their way out for the start of the match.

The hosts are in proper trouble near the foot of the table, with only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.

Town sit 12th and cannot move up, no matter what the result tonight.

Don't know much about the Hayes team.

Dean Inman is a good defender who has been around a while, possibly playing for Hampton and Richmond when they were up near the top of the division.

The only other player I can tell you anything about is goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz, who used to play for Aldershot.

That's an attacking Town bench. Three strikers and no room for Ross Adams, a centre back who would walk into most first teams in this league.

Can't argue with the form of Jay Gasson and David Ray though.

Hayes and Yeading United: Jaimez-Ruiz, Brown, Everitt, Mills, Gerring, Inman, McManus, Harriott, Cox, Ladapo, Bihmoutine. Subs: Williams, Yussuff, Musunga, Akubine, Crowley.

Basingstoke Town: Wells, Rice, Green, Smart, Gasson, Ray, Jenkinson, McAuley, Enver-Marum, Bignall, Soares. Subs: Williams, Holder-Spooner, Barrett, Johnson-Schuster, Matthews.

I'll let you have the teams in full when I'm supplied with a team-sheet.

It's quite a nice evening in Woking, Hayes' temporary home. However, I'm not expecting a big crowd.

The pitch isn't in great shape, with several bare patches. Possibly one of the reasons why Hayes won't be playing here next season.

Just one change for Town, with Andrew Jenkinson coming in for the suspended Wes Daly in the middle of the park.

Liam Enver-Marum and Nicholas Bignall continue in attack.

Good evening and welcome to live text coverage from Kingfield, Woking, where Basingstoke Town are the visitors to Hayes and Yeading United.
