BOUNTY United booked their place in the final of the North Hants Saturday Junior Cup, thanks to a 4-1 win over visiting Basingstoke Twenty-Ten.

Despite missing five of their usual starting line-up, Twenty-Ten had a good share of the play as Adam Elsgood hit the bar and Carl Pearson had two good chances.

Bounty took the lead before half-time, as Matt Love scored after excellent build-up play from Paul Clarke and Mitchell Stokes, The home side made it 2-0 from Stokes 10 minutes after the break.

Twenty-Ten got back into the tie from Pearson’s penalty, after Phillip Case brought down Joey Judd.

Bounty restored their two goal lead as Love made the most of good spade work from Stokes.

The home side’s fourth goal came with 10 minutes left, as a 40-yard pass from Craig Williamson found Stokes to score.

In the other semi-final, Andover League side Sparten beat Welly Old Boys Reserves 2-1.

Graham Jenkins’s Welly side did not perform well on the day and allowed a poor goal in the first-half.

They did better after the break and Brian Cook looked to have levelled early on, but it was disallowed for a push.

They did equalise through Austin Kelly after Dan Costen forced a good save, but Sparten grabbed the winner on 88 minute mark.

They will now face Bounty in the final at Whitchurch on Tuesday April 29 at Whitchurch.

Tadley Calleva A made it through to the semi-finals of the Basingstoke A Cup after a tough 4-3 win against visiting Bramley United.

They will now meet Sherborne St John on Saturday, with the final against Hook or New Inn, seven days later at Winklebury. In the quarter-final tie, Kye Theodore broke the offside trap on 30 minutes which gave Tadley the lead.

This was doubled five minutes later, as Tim Barnett made a hash of his clearance from a Rob Kelly free-kick and Stephen Burgess scored. Bramley pulled a goal back from a 30-yard deflected shot by Ben Squibb, but Tadley made it 3-1, as Theodore netted his second from Craig Farrington’s pass.

The visitors replied again from Josh Archer’s free-kick with 20 minutes to go, but Tadley netted a fourth from Michael Abbott.

Bramley clawed back a goal when Squibb put Phil Mark through, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
