ALDERMASTON RFC are up to third in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship after beating hosts Berkshire Shire Hall 27-17 on Saturday.

A brace of first-half tries from Cary Jackson had the visitors ahead at half-time, while Paul Castle and Tom Hawridge touched down after the break to secure the four-try bonus point.

Aldermaston are on the road again this weekend, travelling to fifth-placed Risborough, while bottom side Kingsclere, who were without a game last week, host Berkshire Shire Hall.

Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier champions Tadley saw their Berkshire Plate fixture against Thatcham postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Red Lane. They are without a game this weekend.

Chineham suffered a 21-3 defeat away at Locksheath Pumas in Hampshire Two on Saturday.

The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty from Jordan Slaney but that proved to be their only score of the game as Locksheath dominated possession, leading 7-3 at half-time and adding three more tries in the second period.

The result leaves Chineham sixth in the table ahead of a home game against second-placed Fareham Heathens on Saturday.

Overton were without a game last week but return to action with a home fixture against Romsey, the side just above them in the Hampshire One table, on Saturday. The Laverstoke Park side must take maximum points from their remaining three games to have any chance of avoiding relegation.
