REACTION

Whitchurch United manager Jim Macey:

"I thought we competed well and we were always in the game. We had to hold on a bit because they have got some good players but we could have nicked another goal at the end and sent it to extra-time.

"I'm pleased that we have got this far in the competition and we gave them a good game.

"Our priority this season is staying up. We should be able to do that and it would be nice to get to the finals of the League Cup and North Hants Cup as well."

9:40pm

Town always looked comfortable and could have had more goals in the second half. However, Shane Lock missed a great chance to level in stoppage time.

Check back tomorrow for a full report.

Reaction to follow, hopefully from both managers.

Whitchurch United 1 Basingstoke Town 2 - Kezie Ibe (53)

Town start the second half well and regain the lead as KEZIE IBE bundles his way through the penalty area before firing home. Whitchurch claims that he handled are waved away.

8:38pm

A great first half for the hosts. As you may expect, Town enjoyed much more possession and had a few more chances, twice going close in the first five minutes, but the hosts made the most of their one real opportunity.

They are right in the game. Remember, they play their football in the Weesex Premier, three steps below Town.

8:24pm

Whitchurch United 1 Basingstoke Town 1 - Nic Turpin (35)

And the hosts are level. A simple ball over the top catches the Town defence square and when goalkeeper Billy Granger hesitates, NIC TURPIN takes the opportunity to lob the ball over him.

The 'keeper gets a touch but cannot keep the ball out.

8:14pm

I'll only be able to do goal updates because I can't see the pitch from the spot where I get a signal!

8:07pm

Whitchurch United 0 Basingstoke Town 1 - Jordace Holder-Spooner (15)

A mistake by the Whitchurch goalkeeper gifts JORDACE HOLDER-SPOONER the ball 25 yards out. He tries to do too much before passing to Simon Dunn and while his shot is blocked on the line, Holder-Spooner is on hand to force the rebound in.

7:48pm

The players make their way out. There's quite a decent crowd here for the game.
