OVERTON United are enjoying a rich vein of form at the moment as they followed up their 8-0 thrashing of Bishop's Waltham with a 5-0 success over visiting Bournemouth Sports.
The home side cruised to a four goal by the break, but it took then until the 20 minute mark to take the lead as Ollie Bode met Danny Houseman's corner with a bullet header.
Five minutes later, it was 2-0 as Jordan Grant cut in from the right and played a one-two with Chris Lavisher before slotting home.
Grant then added a third thanks to lovely curling shot from 30-yards out and Bode lobbed the goalkeeper after being put through by Chris Martin to make it 4-0.
After the break, the visitors came out strong and goalkeeper Sean O'Brien made a couple of saves, while Harry Salmon, Laith Aldoori and Pete Grinham were solid at the back.
The home side then knocked the stuffing out of the visitors with a fifth goal as Aldoori and Grant combined before Houseman sent in a great cross which Alex Jupp headed home.
A delighted Titch Bloomfield said: “It was another great team performance and another clean sheet. I would much rather win 5-0 than 8-4 as this means players are getting into good habits which can only be good for us in the long run.”
This weekend, Overton take a break from league action as they take on Frimley Select in the first round of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup (kick-off 2pm).
