BASINGSTOKE RFC's return to National Three London was not a happy one as they were thrashed 73-5 by hosts East Grinstead.

The home side were three tries to the good after just 12 minutes and led 42-0 at half-time.

Two further scores extended the lead to 54 points before second row Andy Hore got 'Stoke on the scoresheet, running in from halfway.

However, there was to be no comeback, East Grinstead running in two more tries to wrap up the most comprehesive of victories, leaving Basingstoke bottom of the table.
