OVERTON United won the Dango Cup at the first attempt with a 6-0 victory over a youthful Whitchurch United side at Andover New Street last Saturday.
The Hampshire Premier League outfit never looked back after scoring their first goal after 20 minutes.
New signing Craig Harman and Harry Rudge both helped themselves to braces while Myles Englefield made it five goals in three games. Chris Morris was also on target.
The win followed an excellent 4-1 semi-final victory over Andover New Street.
Manager Titch Bloomfield was delighted with the victory.
“It is great to win considering it is our first time in the competition,” he said. “We were up against a young Whitchurch side, but I was very pleased with the way the team played.
“It is looking good as we head towards the season.”
Overton are still hoping to play a couple more friendly games before they kick-off their HPL campaign at Fleetlands next Saturday.
