OLD Basing A have moved to the top of Basingstoke and District Tennis League Men’s Division One after a hard fought draw at Goodworth Clatford – Phil Dixon and Jamie Thomas getting a maximum.
The Goodworth team then had a great 5-3 win at RSF A and Overton A recorded the same score in their win against Beechdown A, writes Richard Mole.
Andover B lead Division Two after a draw with Old Basing B and despite going down 5-3 at Preston Candover.
Andrew and Clive Mountford gave Old Basing B a 7-1 against Beechdown B after they won all their sets.
Nick Sibley/Nigel Baker were another pair to be unbeaten in Kingsclere B’s draw at Goodworth Clatford B.
Totally Tennis A made it three wins from three in Division Three with a 7-1 success against Goodworth Clatford C thanks to a maximum from Tim Rice/Rex Groves.
There were the first wins of the season for both Waverley B and BDH.
Waverley were 7-1 winners against previously unbeaten Odiham A with Tom Clist/Chris Clinch winning all their sets and BDH beat Mortimer A 5-3 thanks to a maximum from Dave Burrell/Robert Rust.
Overton B were 6-2 winners over Hook with Eric McCann/Nat Parratt winning all their sets, while RSF B were too good for Oakley C winning 8-0 to take control of Division Four.
Phil Banfield/Paul Ayres were unbeaten for Beechdown C in their 5-3 win against Odiham B.
Totally Tennis B won 5-3 over Old Basing C and Mortimer B also won by the same score against Sherborne.
Andover A continue to dominate the Ladies Division One after another two wins, both by 6-2 scoreline against Oakley A and Sherborne with Jennie Pope/Andrea McMillan getting a maximum in the Sherborne game.
Goodworth Clatford A had mixed fortunes after a good 5-3 win against Old Basing A they then went down 7-1 at Beechdown A with Tina Wood/Clare Munns winning all their sets for the home side.
Diana Lacey/Tracey Telford and Janice Thomas/Tania Dereham gave RSF A an 8-0 win against Sherborne but they then slipped up, going down 5-3 against Oakley who had Charlotte Toosey/Chantal Smith to thank after they won all their sets.
Preston Candover A head Division Two after wins in their opening two matches. They beat Odiham 5-3 and Andover 7-1 with Catherine Payne/Clare Checketts being unbeaten.
A maximum from Maddy Lawson/Ailsa Fraser gave Hook a 5-3 win at Totally Tennis A and Overton recorded the same result at Andover B.
Rowena Thorne and Helen Li gave Goodworth Clatford B a 6-2 win at Old Basing B.
Helen Townsend/Jo Jones and Gillian Butler/Sandra Harding made it two wins from two for Mortimer A in Division Three after an 8-0 result against Beechdown B.
Anna Taylor and Linda Atkins were unbeaten for Winchester in their 6-2 win at Preston Candover B.
Alison Coughlan and Jane Freer won all their sets for Beechdown B in a 5-3 win at Whitchurch.
Overton A enjoyed a 7-1 win against Odiham in the Mixed Division One thanks to a maximum from Joe Robinson/Lucy Battersby.
In Division Two, Oakley B recorded a 7-1 win at Totally Tennis A with Charlotte Toosey /Frank Marshall being unbeaten.
Division Three saw two wins in their opening matches for Beechdown C following a 5-3 win against their B team and a 7-1 score at Oakley C with Emma Giddings/Hoss Ashraf winning all their sets.
Totally Tennis B won 7-1 against Sherborne with a maximum from Tim Rice/Kirsten Henson and Aldermaston B recorded a 6-2 result against Sherborne. Steve Brown/Tracey Telford gave RSF B a 7-1 win against Mortimer B in Division Four.
