SERGE Holland headed an injury-time winner for visiting Tron as lowly Sherborne St John suffered defeat in the Basingstoke and District League Premier Division.
The visitors opened the scoring after 35 minutes from Ross Cook after a move involving Matt Wilson, Ewan Westwood and Holland.
Home goalkeeper Addy Smith did well to then stop a Cook shot with his feet but Sherborne were always in the game and James Price should have levelled.
On 76 minutes, Sherborne did draw level as sub Tom Davies scored from Sam Hilton’s free-kick.
The winner came after a flurry of activity at both ends, the home side’s Alex Izzo having forced a fine save from Jason Charles in the 89th minute. Play switched to the other end where Scott Winterborne had a shot cleared off the line by Tom Brickley and then hit he bar with the rebound.
Tron’s late winner came as Serge Holland rose at the far post to head Peter Amps’ cross firmly over the crowded goal line.
