A THREE-course dinner and charity auction will boost the coffers of a children’s charity.

The first-ever Auction of Promises, in aid of Naomi House Children’s Hospice, will take place on October 15 with tasty food, prizes and a dose of comedy.

The light-hearted evening, which is being held at the Basingstoke Country Hotel, in Nately Scures, will be hosted by local comic Jan Jack.

Doors open at 7pm to give diners time to decide on their bids before taking their seats.

Basingstoke companies and individuals have donated prizes and promises to the event, including a personalised wedding dress design and fitting, spa days, golf days and a dinner party for 12 people.

The fundraiser is being backed by Basingstoke-based firm Computer 2000.

Jackie Brownlee, the company’s HR director, said: “Naomi House is particularly close to our hearts and is regularly nominated by Computer 2000 employees for the great work that it does supporting hundreds of children and their families cope with life-limiting conditions. We are proud to be sponsoring such a great event.”

The evening costs £25 and money raised will go towards the £5million annual running costs of Naomi House and Jacksplace.

The charity only receives 15 per cent of its funding from the Government and relies on fundraising events and local donors to make up the rest.

A full list of lots is available at naomihouse.org.uk and pre-bids are welcome before midday on October 14.

Anyone interested in attending the evening can contact Michelle Coles, on 01962 843513, or email fundraising@naomihouse.org.uk.
