Snowfall affects local schools

A NUMBER of local schools are opening later than usual today due to last night’s snowfall.

Brighton Hill Community School, in Brighton Way, will open at 9.25 to allow staff to clear the paths of the snow.

Bramley Church of England School, Bramley Lane, is inviting parents to bring children a little later, with registers being kept open until 10am.

Cliddesden Primary School, Cliddesden and Great Binfields Primary School, Binfields Farm Lane, Chineham will both open at 9.30am.

Manor Field Infant School, in Haydn Road, Brighton Hill, will open at 10am and close at 2.30pm to allow everyone to travel to and from school safely during daylight hours.

Park View Infant School and Park View Junior School, in Pinkerton Road, Basingstoke, will both open from 10am to allow time for the site to be cleared. All volunteers with spades or shovels are welcome.

Children can arrive at Hatch Warren Infant School, Gershwin Road, between 9.30am and 10am and are advised to walk if possible as parking may be difficult.

Acorns Nursery, in Park Close, Oakley will be opening ay 9.30am and is also welcoming offers of help.
