POLICE are hunting for witnesses after a pensioner verbally abused a disabled man on a bus.

The incident happened on a number three bus on Thursday, January 17, as the bus was being driven along New Road towards Winchester Road in Basingstoke.

At about 1.30pm an elderly man became verbally abusive towards another man who suffers from Down’s Syndrome and also shouted abuse at another man on the bus.

The driver of the bus had to pull over as a result of the incident.

PC Christian Lavin said: “The offender has been identified but as yet, the second man who the elderly man shouted at has not reported this incident to the police. I would urge him to come forward

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was on the bus at the time and witnessed this incident.”
