THE director of a Chineham travel company is among those recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
Terry Thornhill, managing director of Toucan Travel, was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to people with disabilities and to Basingstoke.
Mike Miller-Smith, from Old Basing, has been awarded an MBE for services to aviation for people with disabilities through Aerobility.
Mr Miller-Smith is chief executive of the charity helps people with disabilities learn to fly small aircraft. It is based at Blackbushe Airport near Hartley Wintney.
David Glasenbury, a specialist physical education advisor at the National Police College at Bramshill, has also received an MBE.
