A 99-year-old man has been duped by a heartless conman.

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to speak following a distraction-style burglary which took place at the pensioners home in London Road, Hook.

The elderly man was at his home between 8.45pm and 9pm on Friday, December 14 when he discovered an unknown man in his conservatory.

The man told the victim a story about why he was there and took some cash from the house.

Several weeks previous to this incident, it is believed the same man called at the victim’s house and asked for change of a £50 note. Again money was taken from inside his home.

On both occasions the offender went out of sight whilst in the victims home, asking to use the toilet or similar.

The man is described as white, aged about 40, about 5ft 8-9ins tall, of a slim build and had short-dark hair.

PC Andy Young said: “This is a horrible crime where the victim has been specifically targeted, probably due to his age and vulnerability. “If you recognise the man in the e-fit image or have seen anything suspicious in the area, please contact me.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Young at Aldershot CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 anonymously.
