AN afternoon tea celebration was enjoyed by staff from Basingstoke hospital who won awards for their outstanding patient care.
The staff joined colleagues from Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which also runs Andover and Winchester hospitals, for the WOW! awards.
More than 30 winners attended the celebration at The Ark Conference Centre, where they were treated to tea and cake, joined by trust chairman Elizabeth Padmore, and chief nurse Donna Green.
Mrs Green said: “It gives me great pleasure to sit down each morning and write and sign letters to people who have been nominated, though with so many nominations I’m having to be at my desk earlier and earlier!”
Among the winners were the Alton and Basingstoke cardiac rehabilitation team who were presented with a WOW! award for their work supporting patients with heart disease.
They were nominated by a patient who felt that the team treats patients as individuals, supporting them through their treatment and creating a happy, caring and professional environment.
