PLANS are being drawn up to extend the GP surgery in Hartley Wintney.

The extension could provide a new consulting room and storage space for Hartley Wintney Surgery, in Chapter Terrace, members of Hartley Wintney Parish Council were told.

Councillor Tony Woods told the meeting on Monday that the work could cost around £29,500, which would come from contributions made by developer Barratt Homes as part of the first phase of the Dilly Lane development.

Cllr Woods said he had been to the surgery with a builder, and said there was room for a small extension to the rear of the building.

He added there was scope to spend some of the remaining £70,000 of developer money on converting a staff rest area into two more consultation rooms.

Cllr Woods said: “This includes almost everything that the surgery could want. The next step would be to get an architect to draw up some plans and get another couple of quotes.”
