AS THE snow fell across Basingstoke and Deane last week it didn’t stop book lovers getting into the spirit of World Book Day.
Children and school staff were encouraged to dress up as fictional characters form their favourite books.
With many schools across the borough closed on the official day of World Book Day (Thursday, 1 March), but some schools held book weeks to celebrate.
This year was the 22nd year of the event, which each year seems to grow in popularity. With youngsters taking inspiration from the likes of Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh and many more.
Schools that registered to participate were sent a pack of book tokens and resources full of ideas and activities to get involved with the event
