PARALYMPIC Gold Medal Winner Graham Edmunds was the guest of honour the annual presentation event at Aldworth School.
The school welcomed back the Year 11 ’Class of 2017’ on Wednesday 22 November, where former students were awarded a range of prizes for progress, achievement, endeavour and attendance.
Double gold medal winner Graham attended a question and answer session with some of the current Year 11 students before the evening celebrations began.
During the session students heard about Graham’s accident and how he overcame significant barriers to be able to walk again, unsurprisingly he used swimming in his rehabilitation regime.
Headteacher at Aldworth School Denis McCabe said: “Graham provided a motivational and interesting talk that delivered a powerful message. Having a successful, hard-working, role model who has had a personal battle to regain mobility was truly inspiring.”
“The achievement of our students are the result of a huge team effort.”
