A BASINGSTOKE infant school has been told it is now improving by an Ofsted inspector.
The education watchdog made a monitoring visit to Park View Infant School, in Pinkerton Road, on May 8 after it was graded as “requires improvement” in February.
In a letter to headteacher Alison Johnson, Her Majesty’s inspector Siân Thornton said: “You have devised a well-presented and systematic plan to steer improvement.”
However, she noted that Mrs Johnson does not “check adequately that teachers implement your requirements well enough”.
The inspector added: “The local authority has provided effective support over an extended period, contributing to improvements.”
But she said the authority had given “insufficient thought to the development of the governors.”
