AN INFORMATION evening for those looking to make a career move into teaching is being held at BCoT next month.

The college is looking for qualified electricians, automotive technicians, plumbers or engineers to pass on their experience and knowledge to students, as well as individuals with qualifications in science, particularly biology or chemistry.

No teaching qualifications are required as BCoT can support suitable candidates to achieve these, by loaning the course fees, which do not have to be paid back if you choose to stay at the college.

Patience and a desire to share your skills and knowledge are essential.

Jackie Grubb, deputy principal at BCoT, said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone with industry skills and expertise who has been thinking about a career in teaching to come along and find out more.

“As a college, we believe it is vital to recruit individuals from industry who can share their wealth of knowledge and experience with our learners.

“If this is something you have been considering for a while, but have been put off by not having any teaching qualifications, don’t worry.

“We want to talk to people who are passionate about their subject and believe they have what it takes to be part of a really successful teaching team here at BCoT.”

Anyone interested can visit the college, in Worting Road, on Tuesday, March 3, from 6pm, where staff and students will be on hand to answer any questions. There will also be the opportunity to have a look at the facilities at BCoT and find out about the teaching qualifications available.
