A KIND-hearted girl from Oakley celebrated Easter and her birthday by making a donation to charity after selling her own toys.

Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend Maisie Jones, eight, decided to sell all of her old toys, dolls, fancy dress costumes and other items in aid of Cancer Research.

Sitting outside the house in Newfound for several hours, she raised a total of more than £100. She then added £20 of her birthday money to the donation.

Paul Jones, Maisie’s father, said: “It is for a great cause and a lovely gesture from her. We are very proud of her for this selfless act.”
