FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze to prevent flames spreading to the De La Rue paper mill on Thursday evening.
Two pumps from Basingstoke and one from Kingsclere were called to the blaze, which completely destroyed two shipping containers, in Paper Mill Lane at 7.07pm on September 8.
On arrival crews found the fire had spread across the two containers, which were being used by contractors as portacabins adjacent to the paper mill.
Using eight breathing apparatus, two hose reels and two jets the firefighters extinguished the blaze and prevented the spread of the fire to the mill.
The flames had completely destroyed the two make-shift portacabins, but no injuries were reported.
An investigation as to the cause of the fire in currently on-going.
Fire crews had extinguished the blaze by 10pm.
