FIREFIGHTERS from Basingstoke were amongst those sent to tackle a grain silo fire in Hampshire this morning.
Around 40 personnel from across the county were sent to a silo near Micheldever railway station.
The fire was reported at around 1.30am this morning, and crews from Basingstoke, Overton, Whitchurch and Winchester attended at first.
More crews arrived throughout the morning to help put out the fire.
Crew manager John Clarke said he believed the cause of the fire to be a piece of machinery overheating. Nobody was injured.
Firefighters left the scene at 6.30am.
