A MAN has died and three others were injured in a crash between a lorry and a car near Whitchurch.
The 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash on the northbound carriageway of the A34 at 5.45pm on Saturday.
The man, from Swindon in Wiltshire, was the front seat passenger of a Vauxhall Zafira involved in the crash near the Tufton crossroads.
The driver of the car, a 40-year-old man, and two rear seat passengers, a 13-year-old girl and a 38-year-old man, received minor injuries.
The lorry driver, a 48-year-old man from Poland, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police closed the northbound carriageway until 1.45am on Sunday morning to examine the crash site and clear the debris.
