THIEVES stole cash and a range of different items from a house in Sherfield-on-Loddon.

The culprits gained access to the house in Northfield Road, before leaving the property with a large amount of cash and various household items.

Police said that some of the items which were stolen during the incident, which took place on Monday (December 19) between 12.45pm and 7.40pm, were later recovered in a nearby allotment.

PCSO Nathaniel Johnson said: “Please be aware that on the run up to Christmas, you may have a higher value of items within your home than normal.

“Burglars will know this so please keep any valuable items out of view, do not leave house keys in your door, remove them out of sight, and above all, report any suspicious activity to us on 101.

“We all want you to have a good Christmas, please don't let a criminal ruin it.”
