THIEVES broke into a parked van stealing an electric saw worth more than £700 from a Basingstoke business park.

The Volkswagen Caddy van was parked at Chineham business park, in Crockford Lane, when the thieves smashed the driver’s side window.

Officers believe the incident took place between 9.30am and 10.30am on June 13.

PCSO Nicole Wheatley said: “Please can we remind residents to keep any valuables, in particular tools, out of your vehicles.

“Over the past number of months we have seen a large amount of work vans being broken into and would encourage all to have any property marked and registered on the IMMOBILISE Website.”
