TWO people from Hook have been arrested in connection with an investigation into the circulation of counterfeit currency.
A 30-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of the production, distribution and passing of counterfeit currency.
A further two people, a 36-year-old man from Salisbury and a 31-year-old man from Andover, were also arrested by Hampshire Constabulary and Wiltshire Police.
The two forces have been carrying out a joint operation after counterfeit Scottish £20 notes have been passed to businesses including shops, pubs and clubs and the surrounding area in Hampshire, and Amesbury since October 2015.
Officers from both police forces executed eight search warrants on Tuesday April 12 at addresses in Court, Caesar Close, along with an address in Hook, in North Baddesley and a further property in the area.
They are on bail pending further enquiries until June 24.
