TWO bikes worth £2,000 were stolen from a garage in Basingstoke.

Police are appealing for information after burglars gained entry to a garage in Cliddesden Road between 6pm on Thursday, November 5 and 9.50am on Friday, November 6.

Once inside, they cut through a large lock that was keeping two bikes chained together and made off with them.

The bikes are described as a blue/grey Cube ACID competition bike and a black Marin bike which has a broken pedal and a broken crank.

They are valued at £1,000 each.

PC Richard Cousins said: "Have you been offered either of these bikes for sale? Do you know someone who has recently acquired a bike matching either of these descriptions? If you have any information about where these bikes could be, or who is responsible for stealing them, please call us on 101."
