TWO men were attacked as they walked home from a night out in Basingstoke.

One of the men was kicked in the stomach, and the other was punched in the head, during the attack that took place in Thornycroft Lane, near the BP garage by the West Ham roundabout.

At 1.30am on Saturday, November 22, the two victims were waiting for a friend who had gone into the garage.

They were approached by two unknown men and attacked for refusing to hand over their possessions.

One of the men was described as of mixed race, slim, around 20 years old, 6ft tall, with short, curly black hair. He wore a beige hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The second attacker was around the same age, slightly taller and wore a blue hooded top and dark bottoms.

Detective Constable Andrew Wright said: “This was an unprovoked attack on two males simply walking home after a night out socialising.

“Although nothing was stolen from the men, one has sustained some nasty facial injuries for refusing to hand over his possessions.”
