TWO yobs tried to tip a disabled man out of his wheelchair and into a puddle.
The assault took place in Stratton Park, Kempshott, at 9.35am on Tuesday, as the 57-year-old victim was in his motorised wheelchair and walking his dog.
The two teenagers approached the man from behind, grabbed the wheelchair’s handles and tried to tip the man out. They were unsuccessful and ran off towards Down Grange.
The teenagers are described as white, tall, and wore black or navy blue hooded tops and jeans. One was of medium build and the other was thin.
PC Vincent Lane, from the Basingstoke targeted patrol team, said: “This was a particularly distasteful and unprovoked attack on a disabled man who was simply taking his dog for a walk in the park.
“It would appear as though it was their intention to push the victim out of his wheelchair and into a puddle on the ground.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Lane at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
