CROOKS dragged a car out of the way to steal a valuable classic Jaguar from an enthusiast’s garage in Hartley Wint-ney.

Between 1.15am and 1.40am on Thursday, October 29, a rope was attached to a Jaguar XKR parked outside a private garage in London Road. This was dragged out of the way and abandoned in the middle of the road.

Thieves then broke into the garage and stole a classic 1958 Jaguar (above) that was parked inside.

The vehicle is a white Jaguar XK150 and has a XK Club badge on its windscreen. Its registration was VLO 702. Similar vehicles can be worth between £25,000 and £40,000.

PC Kevan Wright, of the Yateley Targeted Patrol Team, said: “As well as being worth a great deal of money, this classic Jaguar is also of great sentimental value to the owner.

“We believe the vehicle was driven towards Fleet and turned from Reading Road North into Crookham Road just before 2am.”

Anyone with information can contact PC Wright at Yateley police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
