Hartley Wintney ended their season with a narrow home 2-1 defeat against Bagshot Lea in front of a decent crowd. The visitors progress to the Final at Aldershot where their opponents will be Westfield.

Badshot Lea went ahead on 10 minutes when the Row defence failed to clear their lines leaving Anuar Ceesay to set up Kareem Akinnibi to shoot home from 12 yards.  (0-1)

The Baggies extended their lead 10 minutes later when a corner from Cameron Rohart-Brown on the left was headed home by the unmarked George Hedley. (0-2)

On 31 minutes the Row pulled a goal back. A corner on the left from Mo Jallow found Liam Gavin and his header back across goal was neatly converted by Connor Lynch. (1-2)

Hartley had most of the play in the second half but were unable to produce a goal which would have taken the match to penalties.

The 2023-24 season for Hartley Wintney was always going to be a season of transition. Just one player, Reece Wylie, remained from the side relegated during the previous season from the Southern Premier South Division.

In terms of results and performance, the season panned out into three distinct phases.  The first phase was disrupted with the unfortunate departure of manager Rowan Vine.

The coaches regrouped and with new manager Danny Ackland arriving, things stabilised. The second phase saw good form and the team nudged up towards the playoff zone.

The final part of the season has seen the team struggle for form and a run of poor results finally brought the season to an end.

Hartley Wintney will want to recover the mid 2023-24 season form next season and hopefully get towards the top end of the Division.
