AN owner of a countryside pub in Hook is thrilled after it has been announced as a regional winner in the 2024 National Pub & Bar Awards.

Staff at The Mutton at Hazeley Heath are proud to announce its recent accolade as the winner of the 'Pub of the Year’ for Hampshire.

Pubs and bars from across the UK are celebrating after being named the best in their respective counties.

Each year the awards crowns nearly 100 county winners from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

This prestigious award recognises the Mutton’s dedication to excellence in hospitality, celebrating its commitment to serving exceptional dishes using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Housed in a restored 19th-century public house and former post office, it has also been named a regional finalist for the title of Best Destination Pub in the upcoming Muddy Stiletto Awards 2024.

The awards, known for spotlighting the best independent businesses across Hampshire, offer the public a chance to support their favourite locals.

Voting is free and open until 1pm on Thursday, April 18. The regional winners will be announced on May 2, 2024.

One of owners, Carole Taylor, said: "We are truly honoured to be named a county winner in the National Pub & Bar awards and announced as a finalist for ‘Best Destination Pub’ in the Muddy Stiletto Awards. We’re hugely proud of our talented team for delivering memorable experiences for all of our guests."
