It might be spring, but the horrible weather hasn't left just yet as the Met Office has forecast strong winds for the next few days.

A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for the south coast from 9pm on Monday, April 8, until 9am the next day.

The warning doesn't reach Basingstoke but we have still been forecast some strong wind gusts.

Forecasters have said that the wind will pick up this evening. Overnight we are forecast to see wind gusts of 40mph.

From 6am until 2pm on Tuesday, April 9, the wind gusts are forecast to be from 37mph to 40mph.

Light showers are also forecast in the early hours of the morning too from 3am until 5am.

The Met Office forecast over the next few days reads: "Early mist patches clearing to a dry morning with bright spells. Outbreaks of heavy showers spread north early afternoon with a risk of thundery downpours. Winds mostly gentle. Rather warm. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

"The band of heavy, potentially thundery, showers will clear this evening. Further outbreaks of rain arriving from the southwest from midnight. Strong and gusty winds developing overnight, particularly towards coasts. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

"Cloudy [Tuesday] morning with strong winds and spells of patchy light rain. Rain clearing to leave a brighter afternoon with isolated showers. Winds gradually easing. Cool overnight under clear skies. Maximum temperature 12 °C."

The weather forecast is accurate at the time of writing and is subject to change.
