A HAMPSHIRE charity that supports older people is appealing for residents to consider donating their Winter Fuel Payment.
Age Concern Hampshire says the payments will make a ‘significant difference’ in ensuring individuals receive the care and support they need during the winter months and beyond.
The Winter Fuel Payment is an annual, tax-free grant for those aged 66 or older, aimed at covering the cost of heating expenses regardless of financial status with the yearly allowance ranging from £250 to £600.

The charity says contributions from Winter Fuel Payments will also assist them in providing vital support to older individuals confronting loneliness and vulnerability as well as enabling the charity to sustain its essential services and expand assistance to vulnerable communities.
Helen Callen, CEO at Age Concern Hampshire, said: “During the winter months many older people can find themselves increasingly isolated within the confines of their homes.
“Your donation of Winter Fuel Payments has the power to create a significant impact, allowing us to sustain our essential services and activities which are dedicated to easing loneliness and promoting wellbeing.”
Founded in 1985, the charity provides services to the older community in Hampshire such as care and wellbeing centres, foot care clinics, and volunteer services.
